Help needed!
I have just discovered that my great great grandfather came from Greenock. I am trying to locate the family on the census for 1841, 1851 and 1861, but seem to have no luck as his father was a mariner. This is what I have to date.
David McDonald, Mariner, wife Jane McDonald (McKenzie). Son - Alexander McDonald, Fisherman, born abt 1846 and migrated to Australia abt 1864 (I don't know whether the parents came to Australia as well).
Any info would be much appreciated.
