Hei Ronald,
Do you know where Jack was born

Have you any idea of his age when he played in the band. I have a friend on this site who used to live in Carlow. She phoned me this afternoon. I mentioned the name McKechnie and she told me that a Mrs McKechnie and a son Tom used to live in Carlow town in Tullow Street during the 1950s and early 1960s. Mrs McKechnie owned a small sweet shop. Tom did not work but helped his mother occasionally in the shop. It is possible that Jack may have been related to this family. He may have married Greta because he missed Ireland. There were McKechnies in Ireland
www.familysearch.org I have also found a McKechnie who plays the drums

Maybe he has some memories of the 50s and 60s when Jack played with the band
http://www.timward-livemusic.co.uk/featuredbands%20-%20TWJTrio.htmlI had a look at this site
http://genforum.genealogy.com/mckechnie The highest number of enquiries for the name McKechnie is Scotland with 166 followed by Canada 69 and in the small search I did Ireland came third with 20. Ronald, I noticed you posted here and mentioned Jack's wives Greta and Pauline. Do you by any chance know where Jack lived

It is possible that the local paper in that area mentioned something about his marriage to Greta. Do you know when Jack died

Again a look through local papers should produce something. My earlier post was deleted because I have a habit, as do many Ulstermen, of speaking bluntly and pulling no punches.. this upsets some people but I usually get some results through persistence. I hope this one will not be deleted..I am trying to assist in your search for Greta but I now find I am doing needless work..I had something in the back of my mind about Jack being a Canadian..I was close..His father John Collingwood McKechnie. a London/Chelsea mason, in the 1920s sent Jack to be educated in Canada. I discovered this fact when I read your post at the following site whilst trying to learn something about Jack in my endeavours to find Greta. I think it may be possible to find Greta..there are at least three ways of doing it..1) keep your fingers crossed and pray that someone who knows something about her eventually reads this thread, 2) thoroughly research Jack as details of their wedding should be mentioned somewhere and 3) look through the Belfast papers for a twenty year period..maybe longer than twenty years. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the four Belfast papers of the time..Belfast Newsletter, Belfast Telegraph, Irish News or The Northern Whig mentioned the marriage of Jack and Greta.
