I just logged on, thinking "another site that I probably won't use much" - so I picked a family surname and have regretted it ever since - You all have fabulous witty names.  Wheeldon isn't even my surname!

How wrong was I?  I'm a rootschat addict and I love this site! Berlin Bob did give me some v helpful advise on how to change my user name but I've kinda got used to it and it's stuck - a bit like you first name really.  Also, strugglin to find a knock out user name!

It is another "nickname" that I seem to have collected for my self over the years (only this one can be repeated in front of maiden aunts and at the vicar's tea party). Given to me by someone years ago who came up with it as he said that I reminded him of Charles II. Great I thought he must be able to see that from this 'umble being there is an air of regal standing and pose about me, that is until he told me that Charlie boy had been landed with the name due to a race horse that he owned at the time called "Old Rowley" who had been put out to stud and had been very successful (same as Chas when you come to think of it), and he thought that as I was the father of seven kids it was appropriate.......ah well so is life.........pssssst anyone know of a good orange seller.

I chose to go use my maiden name in the hopes that anyone who remembers me from the mists of time or is researching the McGurn name would get in touch. :)

Not had any success with anyone who new me before 1964   :( but have had a couple of bites from the genealogy aspect. :)

Great to know whose who. Bit like putting faces to names really.

My brother had a bit of a speech problem when he was little,as a result he couldn't pronounce my nickname which was Lindy Lou.He would insist that I was called NinkyNoo.I was therefore called Ninky all my childhood.Since my parents passed away I have missed being called Ninky,so thought it would bring back very happy memories to reclaim my nickname and so it has!!!
