As others have said, didn't want to use my real name to start with so I used the name of the Underground station where I grew up as a child. Seemed to be unusual enough but I usually sign of with my own name now.

I chose my username as my first name. It's not a very common name, and I didn't think that RootsChat would ever get this big.  :-\

Never thought of looking at this Lighter side before. Good laugh, well done.

My name Salty, well I could have chosen one of several that I have had over the years.

Tommy trouble, Slim, Spock, plus a few others.

I happened to mention to someone in my office where I work now in Powys, that I had spent 10 years in the Andrew, Royal Navy. From then on I have been known as Salty to one and all.

My name, like others, just happened.  There are too many Carol's that you end up with Carol 999993788 and who can remember that.

So I used part of one of the website that I have, a work in progress at the moment but the others are growing fast.

Genjunction a shortened genealogy junction as in this hobby there are always junctions, crossroads and dead ends and plenty of traffic lights to slow you down.

It seemed to fit, so why not

Got too many nicknames on other sites, so I thought it would be a good idea to use my proper name for a change.

My name is one of my all time favourite albums (by Jethro Tull), chosen because it was playing in the background when I signed up and I can never think of anything clever when I need to  ;D

Stephanie is far too common so that was out of the question lol! but I usually sign off with it.

Tabitha, that's a great photo you have there, a real cute kit.
