Where is Bremners Land Duntocher?

Hi Eilidh,  Found this old photo,  to the left are the houses on Bremners Land.  there were doors at the front...and doors to the back entrance from stone stairs with metal railings.  Helps a wee bit.  myyran.

The use of a surname and the word LAND in this context was, in Scotland, a common way of describing rented housing in multiple occupation. Here is a quote from 1829:

In Embro', where The Land means, ye ken, a Tenement or Tenements, a batch o' houses

Hi Imber,   I always thought  'land' meant the houses were built on Farmers  Land. Thankyou for your info. Myyran.
