Hi Devondaisy

I would suggest you post again asking for a specific 1841 look up

Good luck

Charles Pelton (C 1793 Brentford) was born to John Pelton (C 1730, Brentford) and an unknown wife.
He was married to Ann Baker (C 1796) on 25 May 1823 at St Mary's, Lambeth.
John Pelton was born to Charles Pelton (C 1700) and Mary Baker who he married on 9 Feb. 1723.
Unless you know better . . . .  ?
Regards,
John11576

Hi

That would mean if John Pelton was born c1730 he would have been 63 at the time of his son Charles' birth circa 1793

1841 census HO107 738/3 folio 29
Princes Street St Margaret Westminster
Charles Pelton 45 Baker born Middlesex
Ann Pelton 45 not born Middlesex
Emma Pelton 14 not born Middlesex
Charles Pelton 11 Not born Middlesex

The marriage in Lambeth of Charles Pelton was to a widow.

Four children were baptised at St John the Evangelist Smith Square Westminster
Elizabeth Ann 1823
Charles Thomas 1825
Emma Christiana 1827
Charles 1831

The earlier parish registers for Brentford seem to be on Ancestry but unindexed

http://landing.ancestry.co.uk/lma/default.aspx

They are not on the IGI

No idea whether this is correct - it doesn't seem a Huguenot surname

Hi

Thanks to both of you for your information, I will be looking into it further especially the Pelton extract from the book, its looks very interesting. Also I hadnt realised the Old Brentford registers were on Ancestry, thanks.

Kind regards
