birth of James Deverell abt 1822

I am seeking for the birth date and any family of my convict James Deverell born  abt 1822 ( native place )Devises Wiltshire England.
he later married another convict Catherine Loury/Lowry
in Hobart Tasmania.

Hi Mau Mau,

As you can see below there were at least four James Deverells
aroung that time. Do you have any more information to enable you to confirm the correct one? These are from the BVRI but do allow for transcription errors in the spelling of names. As you can see one of these is the same person but spelt differently. If you can identify you relation do let me know and I will look and see if he had any siblings. Hope this helps. Frances

Thank you Frances . but I have no idea which one is him.
on his convict papers it states he was born in 1822 and his father was Joseph and he had a sister Eliza .
My father in law the grand son of him said that the Deverells came from Ireland.
  So back to the drawing board

The BVRI is incomplete so keep looking, with a bit of luck someone else may have different records that may help you. If he did not leave this country before 1841 a census look-up may show him with his family. Happy Hunting, Frances

He arrived in Tasmania on "Sir George Seymour" convict ship in 1845.

Still looking for My  James DEVERELL ........
after getting his death certificate and marriage certificate ..
I have found by working out his age at the time.
he is now born 1918 1919 or  1922 so which certificate is right.
brrrrrrrrrrrr.
     he has to be in the 1841 sen. somewhere ...

he was caught and charged in Sampford-Peverell ...
so could be on Devon Sen.
