Thomas Able of ?Misson

I am trying to find out more about an ancestor.  I have him on the various census returns but cannot find details of his birth.  He was Thomas Able and was stated to have been born in Misson, Cheshire in 1831.  He married in West Derby, Lancs.  I would be thrilled if someone had access to parish records, so that I could find the date of baptism and, even better, details of his parents.  Most of my Ables were born in Neston, I do not know anything about Misson.

Can you give anymore information. Where was it stated he was born 1831 in Misson ? and can you give full details of the earliest census return you have him on ?

There is no such parish as Misson in Cheshire, so searching parish records would be a non starter until its confirmed exactly where he was born.

I've just been looking at this, and I think the information is from the 1861 census, RG9 2936/6 Page 5 in Manchester.  On the original it looks more like Messon which could easily be a misheard Neston.  The Neston PR's are online at http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb/, but there is no Thomas ABEL or ABLE at that time.

There is this entry in 1851, HO107 2187/143 Page 19, at 17 Mann St, Liverpool:
Hugh ABEL, Head, Mar, 52, Shoemaker born Neston Cheshire
Roger ABEL, Son, U, 24, Boiler Maker born Neston Cheshire
John ABEL, Son, U, 22, Smith born Liverpool
Thomas ABEL, Son, U, 18, Labourer born Liverpool
Robert ABEL, Son, 6, Scholar born Liverpool

And a baptism on IGI at familysearch.org at St Peters, Liverpool
Thomas ABEL born 11 Feb 1834, baptised 3 Mar 1834, parents Hugh ABEL and Sarah.

Roger ABEL's baptism is at Neston, 16 Mar 1827 parents Hugh and Sarah.
Robert ABEL's baptism is also at St Peters, Liverpool (IGI) on 17 Apr 1837.
