Records for Buffalloes!
« on: Tuesday 28 March 06 22:26 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I have a photograph of my Gt Gt Grandfather George Hill showing him in his Buffaloe regalia. I don't know when the photo was taken, at a guess possibly late 1910's. On the shoulder of the sash are the letter's PGM. Does anyone know what these letters stand for? He lived in Blyth so I would assume that he was a member of a lodge there, how would I go about finding out and what records are available if any?

Many thanks in advance!

Regards,

David

Hi Pauline,

I had already stumbled across that site but thanks anyway!! It was through that that  I found that his lodge was presumably of the three older lodges in the town. I posted this to see if there was any other way of furthering this line of enquiry.

Thanks again.

Regards,

David

Hello David, if not already answered, PGM stands for Provincial Grand Master, the most Senior Post in a Province (Head Of) area or district, that administrative office HQ of all Lodges under its control or Banner, answerable to the Grand Lodge itself in all affairs BUFF (RAOB). Mike

Hi there!

I'm researching my family tree & I believe that my great grandfather George Beaney Crawford was a brother in one of the RAOB lodges in the Northumberland   Newcastle area, but I'm not sure which lodge he attended.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help

Thanks!!
