Hi again Twink

George WENHAM
Wife: Charlotte age 49
Location: Hastings

Sorry, but I can not locate a George with wife Mary.

There is only 1 George Wenham, Aged 60, Shoemaker in The Union Workhouse, Ore
_______________

George PETERS
Wife: Mary
George, age 27, born Bexhill

These are the only George & Mary Peters that I could find, – but they are to old.

PETERS George, 50, Ag Lab, born in Sussex
             Mary, 55, born Sussex

________________

Harriet ELDRIDGE, age 10 - 16 (depending upon later census returns!)  born Bexhill or Battle.  Daughter of James and Sarah.

Location: Battle, Westfield, Hollington

1841 Census – Hollington Street, Hollington, Hastings, Sussex

ELDRIDGE James, 40, Ag Lab, born Sussex
                Sarah, 40, born Sussex
                Harriot, 10, born Sussex
                Robert, 5, born Sussex
                Sophia, 5, born Sussex
                Charles, 5, born Sussex

The Census Enumerator went a bit wild with this batch of returns - his brief was:
Round down the ages of Adults over 13 to the nearest 5 years.
Children under 13 - record / show their exact age
So, I expect that Robert, Sophia and Charles were not triplets as suggested by their ages.  All other children on the same batch of returns are the same ages, 5 or 10 years of age.

Hi Chris,
I have just discovered my 3xG Grandparents lived in Hastings during the 1830s/40s. Could you possibly see if you can find them for me?
Michael Paffett
Rebecca Paffett
Possibly with children:
Eliza Paffett (christened St Mary in the Castle)
Victoria Paffett (chr. St Mary Magdalene)
Albert Paffett (chr. St Mary Magdalene)
I think Rebecca was born in Portsmouth, but I`m not sure about Michael.
Many thanks for your time,
Rebecca  :)

Hi bex

There is a paffett family in Hastings in 1841 and 1851 but it is John / Caroline and Family - not your Michael / Rebecca and family

Do you trhink they are relatives

They could be, I have a few Carolines in my Paffetts from Portsmouth.
I guess maybe Michael and Rebecca had moved back to Portsmouth by the time the census was taken, the latest I have them in Hastings is 1840.
Thanks very much for looking,
Bex
