Dear Chris

It's very kind of you to do 1841 look ups; please could you try these for me:

1) Edward and Sophia Miller, living in Hankham, near Westham. Don't know address, they had about 7 children by then.
2) Would it be possible to find out who was living in the Old Dial House in Westham Street in 1841? I'm hoping it was Millers who should be Edwards parents.  Can't find out anything about them yet but I believe they had a connection with Zoar Street Chapel, Upper Dicker.

Many thanks.
PS Edward Miller is my GGG Grandfather.

Hi there Moon

Sorry for the delay, but have been on holiday.

Took a quick look on the local census transcriptions and found:

1831 a couple of entries
1841 some 23 entries
1851 over 40 entries

If you can be more specific, will give you fuller details.

Chris,  Many thanks for that information. Hope you had a good holiday. I am going down to Sussex next week for a few days to take a look at some local records and hopefully tie up some loose ends.
Thanks again.............Pam

Hi again

"I am going down to Sussex next week for a few days to take a look at some local records and hopefully tie up some loose ends."

Seems strange to hear someone saying that, but it is all downhill from Nottinghamshire aint it.

Hope you have a successful trip and go back 'up north' with loads of new ancestors

1841 census Westham

Thanks very much Chris.  :) You have been a great help.  Now more information to add to the jigsaw!

I think my next step must be to track down the chapel records at Upper Dicker. (Zoar), and I think a trip to either the East or West Sussex Records office is required, unless you have any other suggestions?

Happy Easter to you.
