Mine are.....

Thomas THOMSON, married 1873 in Scotland.

William WILSON, b.25 May 1877 in Armadale, Scotland.
m.17 May 1904 in Kaitangata, New Zealand.
d.28 Oct 1918 in Shag Point, Otago, New Zealand. I have his wedding photo and this side of the family seem to be a bunch of shorties  ;D

William Jeffery ANDREW,b.1865 in Ballarat, Australia (the only one of 6 children to be born inOz to survive)                         m.31 Dec 1891 in Auckland, New Zealand.
d.9 Sept 1949 in Wellington, New Zealand.

Albert Charles WHITFORD b.2 Nov 1869 in New Zealand
m.1925 in New Zealand (even though him and his wife had been having children since 1899 )         d.1953 in New Zealand

I know that William WILSON was a coal miner, I think Thomas may have been as well. William ANDREW was a headmaster and school teacher, and Albert was a baker.

Greatfull to have this info, and I'm looking forward to finding more out about them.

I have done research on the ancestors of Ellen Eliza Scott who married James Swinford.
I can send data if you wish. Have you also done similar work?

Tony

I have done some research mostly online back to 1670, and have a photograph of both Ernest George and his father James' grave as they are buried near me.  I will private message you my email address to you.

thanks

Tony: Welcome to Rootschat.  I don't think the facility to send or receive private messages is enabled until you have posted two or three messages on a board - and I seem to recall that posts on the Common Room boards don't count!  Could be why Lolly is having difficulty making contact.

My gt-grandfathers:

Henry James Stevens: Whitesmith, ironmonger, brewery agent and brewer, of Calne and Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire.
George Whitlock: Builder of Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Thomas Woosnam Gore: Farmer of Radley, Berkshire.
Lee Smith: Marine Engineer of Newbury, Berkshire.

Rachel
Stevens (Devizes, Calne, Wootton Bassett): Hunt (Milford/Lymington, Calne): Moore/Rudland (Ipswich): Whitlock (Pitton & Farley): Hayter (Whiteparish)

O'Reilly (Sheffield, Flint, L'pool, Co. Longford): Foxton (Sheffield, Northallerton, Thirsk): Spragg (St. Teath, Delabole, Pengelly): Stabb (Berry Pomeroy)

Gore (Newbury, Wigan): Hawkins (Gt Bedwyn/Hungerford): Massey/Wallis (Shalbourne): Mildenhall (Ogbourne): Smith/Lilley (Nhants): Wernham (Chieveley): Woosnam (Mont./Salop): Yaldwyn (Blackdown)

my four g-grandfathers :

Arthur Wilson, born Leeds, trained first as a solicitor but had to leave that when his father left. He then started work as a manager of a shop in Dublin.

Owen Sheridan, born Dublin City. Initially a cab-owner working with his uncle. Later became involved in the Coal business and started a large Coal distribution company.

Patrick Fitzsimon, born Co. Wicklow, His family were farmers, and he became a car-owner/haulier, and supplied building materials.

Andrew Kavanagh, born Co. Dublin. Farmer, who came from a long line of farmers in the area.

agree with akanex2 ... investigating the occupations can be very interesting work.. and on the female side of the family we have (not just the g-grandmothers)  :

  several farmers, a Nurse/Midwife, a confectionery shop owner, a beer dealer/publican/farmer/grocer..
