Four Trees -Our Great Grandmothers

My 4 great grandmothers are -

Florence Elizabeth Mason b. 1887 Northampton
Kate Hillyard b. 1872 Northampton
Kate Emily Leach b. 1879 Northampton
Emily Louisa J Law b. 1886 Cogenhoe, Northants

I've found all of their husbands too. Unfotunatley I don't remember any of them. I only have photos of Florence Mason and her husband William Russell. In one of the photos William is holding my eldest sister when she was around 2yrs old.

as i am only 19 years old i have traced back all 4 gt grandmothers and have personaly met 3 of them i however have photos of all 4 of them and there parents 

they are

Doris May Gilliver born Nuneaton 1919- 1998
Edith Annie Marr born Walkeringham 1902 - 1980
Bet Prestidge born Nuneaton 1920 - still going strong with her husband 
Doris Turner born Gringley on the hill 1906 - 1996

I have to include a pic of my great-great-grandmother's grave, which I visited last Feb. I started crying when I saw it. If you can't read it, at the bottom it says, "Gone, but not forgotten." I knew exactly why I was doing this. And I wish I had started at 19 also.

the reason i have started so young / when i was 17 is so that hopefully one day i will be fourtunate enough to have children / grandchildren of my own and when they come to me and say can you tell me about this person or what was your grandparents like i can get my book with all of my interview noted from when i questioned them and show them.

i intend to keep on researching my family tree and am currently writing a book about my memories and other peoples.

i know i am young have a lot to learn and much more of my life to live but i would rather start now writing memories of relatives gone by than to start when i am 50 and to have forgotted half of the stories that could have been put in my book.

Very wise. And very lucky for you. The interviewing of the relatives now provides wonderful information, but when they are gone, you will also have the wonderful memories of time spent with them.

Yes,  William and Jane were Kate Hillyards parents. "Jane" was actually Sarah Jane Pickering and chose to be called Jane. I have quite a bit on the Pickerings. Now I'm trying to find out all about William Hillyard, who his parent were and if he had any siblings etc.

A good place to start is with George & Mary HILLYARD at
PIDDINGTON.  Possible parents or an uncle & aunt.
Others:  Charles, Thomas & Maria HILLYARD (siblings or cousins of
your William HILLYARD.
Charles George HILLYARD could be a nephew or second cousin
(born about 1877 or 1878 or 1879).
