TILSTON
« Reply #117 on: Wednesday 12 April 06 21:30 BST (UK) »
Did Rose have any kin in North Wales area of Wrexham and connected to the Tilston or Parry names?
Zelley,
I have Tilstons from North Wales way, way back in my tree.  Most recent one born at Gresford, but possibly Wrexham as well.
MarieC

Re Tilston names:  Some connections:
Edward Tilston & Jane Parker (married about 1902)
Joseph Tilston & Annie Dykes
Richard Tilston & Sarah Jones

Other Tilston name connection before Richard include Ward,
Lloyd and others.
In 1881, Richard was a widower and residing with son Joseph.

Re Gresford:  Any family losses in the Gresford Mone disaster?

I have Elizabeth Tilston, born 1802, married 1. Thomas Hall (d.1840), 2. George Garner.  We do not have details for the second marriage, or confirmation of when she died.

Her parents were Samuel Tilston and Dorothy Weanwright.

I know nothing about the Gresford mine (did you mean mine?) disaster.

There was a Samuel Tilston born about 1774 in
the Llay area of Gresford.  He was the son of
Thomas & Elizabeth.
The Marriage of Samuel in 1898 appears to be a
Dorthy Wainwright.

Yes, all of that's right, Zelley.  Wainwright was an alternative spelliing of Weanwright.  A cousin has been researching this line, and she has got the Tilstons back as far as Thomas Tilston, 1613-1663 and his wife Alice.  We are pretty OK with that.  What we don't have, for our ancestor Elizabeth Tilston b. 1802, are details of her second marriage and when she died (though Jennie has found possibles here).  It would be good to find this!

Are you descended from any of the Tilstons in this line?

Thomas Tilston tree.

Edward, the son of Thomas had a number of children,
your branch is Edward Jr. and by marriage my
branch is the Peter Tilston & Jane Randle branch

In the context of great-grandmothers, Jane Randle is a great grandmother of John Tilston (born 1780) and spouse to
Sarah Lloyd.  Now Sarah Lloyd is the great grandmother
of  Edward Tilston, spouse of Jane Parker.
John Tilston's mother is Hannah Ward, the great-grandmother of Joseph Tilston, spouse of Annie Dykes.  And Annie Dykes is the great grandmother of a heap of folks living today
from Wrexham, Wales to Vancouver Island, Canada

Bit of a shock to find on Ancestry One World Tree that my Great Grandmother Elizabeth Sarah Rendall and her husband Albert Love Griffin had been stolen and transported to Massachusetts to die :o I have restored them to their rightful resting place of Bridport, Dorset. Someone however is following the wrong family.

Jemima Jane Quarry (born Bushey, Herts 1872)
Jemima Jane died 6 months after I was born, we met although I have no memory of it!! :D

I wonder how she is connected to
the Charles & Jane QUARRY family of Bushey.  And how is Jemima Quarry
connected to Julia Quarry, born in Bushey
