Eliza Jane Barker, born 1868 in Newcastle under Lyme, died in Alsager 1937. My mother has vivid memories of her. Apparently she liked a good time with her family and they had big family get togethers.

Fun & Fantasy in days of yore: By Z
Slipping back through time, to Stoke Upon Trent, I wonder if
the teenager from Newcastle took care of young Tilly FARMER
in the daily dutues at the widow Jane Farmer's abode on High Street.
Did she ever go for a ride with young James PEARSON, the teenaged wagon maker? Did they stop by to visit the
blacksmith Bill SUTTON. And how many timesdid Ellen Jane
sit on any given sunny summer's day and watch the Barge workers float along such as Joseph WOOD and Mary COPE.
Did she have a good time with the local teens
such as the grocer's daughter o the likes of Alice CLAY
.Did they dance with
the lads like the apprentice plumber Thomas DEAVILLE
or go for a summer outing or town event likea potter's paint party alongside the RILEY family or Sarah Jane EDWARDS.
