Reid, Wood, Hammond and Tomes.  Two Scottish and two English - guarantees a dilemma everytime the Calcutta Cup is played

Lilia Rose Ginger, born 1878, died 1960
Annie Chadwick (the family name was originally Chidwick), born 1888, died 1966
Beatrice Caroline Studley Parrett, born 1894, died 1980
Daisy Clarkson, born 1892, died 1979

I have photos of two of them (surprisingly for the two that died in the 1960s).  I think there maybe photos of the other two in existence, I shall have to ask my grandmother.

Top photo is of an eldery Rose (Lilia Rose above).  I have many photos of her, including one from the 1900s.  There is also one in existence of her in the 1890s, I believe but I do not have access to it.
Bottom photo is of Annie.

It was likely taken at 40 Caldew Street, Camberwell.  It's now demolished, I believe.  This branch of the Yeowell family lived at 40 Caldew Street from the 1890s until Rose's death in 1960, I believe.

Have just discovered this interesting thread and would like to add my four great-grandmothers; strong women all of them!

Elizabeth Havelock Green, born 1863, Lyttelton, New Zealand. She married William Betty, had 11 children and died in 1939.
Jane Criuckshank, born Rothes, Scotland in 1860. Came to NZ with her mother and 4 sisters in the 1870's. Married Frank Turner, had 4 children and died in 1942
Edith Kedge, born Norwich, 1875. Married Augustus Osborn, had 10 (?) children and died in 1960 in England.
Emma Jones, born 1864 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Married Charles Gibbens and had 12 children. Died in 1938.

I never met any of them and didn't even know their names a couple of years ago!

Sorry about this, I know it isn't a 'Restore' thread, but Rose Ginger just grabbed me and wouldn't let go.
What an adorable looking old lady, I just had to give her a makeover...

Paula,

Oh, thanks for that, that's much appreciated.  You have done a great job!

I have some earlier photos of her as well.  In fact, I am lucky in that I have a lot of photos of her.  I also recently also rediscovered a photo of Rose's grandmother that another researcher sent to me a while back.

This is with her eldest son, around 1901/02.

Hi James,
She didn't change, did she, just grew old gracefully.
If you would like me to take a pop at restoring some of the photos put them up on the Restoration Board...I might get my knuckles rapped if I start doing them on here :)
