ASHBY of London
« Reply #126 on: Friday 14 April 06 20:49 BST (UK) »
My Great Grand mothers were:

Louisa Elizabeth Ashby (born Clerkenwell 1862 - died 1911 Wood Green area, North London)

I wonder if she ever bumped into
the old button maker John Wager while taking a casual Sunday afternoon walk
down Gt. Bath Street.

And I wonder if Emma ASHBY while in the paper bag making trade ever worked alongside a member of the Kyne family

And what about those fast moving errand boys, maybe Oliver EVANS or John PAGE,
did the ASHBY girls ever dance with Evans or Page?

Jemima Jane Quarry (born Bushey, Herts 1872)
Jemima Jane died 6 months after I was born, we met although I have no memory of it!! :D

I wonder how she is connected to
the Charles & Jane QUARRY family of Bushey.  And how is Jemima Quarry
connected to Julia Quarry, born in Bushey
 ???

Charles & Jane (nee Birch) Quarry are her aunt and uncle.

Julia is her first cousin ( marrried Henry Williamson Young)

PHILLIPS & LEWIS - great grandmothers
« Reply #129 on: Saturday 15 April 06 18:24 BST (UK) »
I notice some of the folks have the PHILLIPS name as a likely branch,  My great grandmother (London born) Nancy LEWIS
married a PHILLIPS (Warwickshire born),

So how many others folks have a great
grandmother or grandmother with a PHILLIPS or LEWIS connection
by birth of marriage?

Considering my other branches, what about
SMITH & WHITE?

RENDELL of Bridport
« Reply #131 on: Sunday 13 August 06 08:16 BST (UK) »
Bit of a shock to find on Ancestry One World Tree that my Great Grandmother Elizabeth Sarah Rendall and her husband Albert Love Griffin had been stolen and transported to Massachusetts to die :o I have restored them to their rightful resting place of Bridport, Dorset. Someone however is following the wrong family.
Jan ;)

So how is Elizabeth Sarah Rendell connected to
Elizabeth Gale  Rendel and Maria Gale Rendell?

Then there are likely connection to the Barlett and Strickland names.

My Great Grand mothers were:
Henrietta Harriett Knobbs (Born West London 1840)

Was your Henrietta the one that married in 1860, and was her father
named James Knobbs?

Well my four great grandmothers are:

Margaret Black born 1884, Lanarkshire
Jeanie Craig born 1895, Lanarkshire
Agnes  Tripney born 1901, Lanarkshire
Susan Davidson born 1902, Lanarkshire

In answer to the poll have taken them back more than one generation on each side except in Jeanie's case as she was illegitimate and no idea who the father was.
