Welcome to Rootschat, deby32.  It appears we are talking about the same Johnson family.  Great how these things pop up unexpectedly.

father Wilhelm GONSEN and Margaret Kornway

father William GANZEN mother Margaret CORNWINE

Perhaps Johnson  was the "english" name

thats interesting cause my aunt had william johnson and margaret conway as the parents of the children listed for william johnson and margaret ryan as above

Yes  I  thought it was too much of a coincidence,
Do you  have death deails for William Johnson, you mentioned Margaret had died at Gawler hospital.

Hi again,

I have more information on the Johnson family since first posting this request in 06.     
Their BDM's were sometimes under GONSEN/YANZEN/JOHNSTON/JOHNSTONE  etc etc.  But I still have some some unanswered questions too.

I will PM Deb with some more recent information so as not to include any living relatives.

Hi Jenn

Thanks for the birth - GANZEN William 30 Aug 1858.   I had his baptism as Jan 1859, where his parents are listed as William Johnson and Margaret CONVEY, but I didn't have the birth,  except what had been written in the little New Testament.  So thank you -another blank spot has been filled in     And another variation in the spelling !!
