Hi - hope you are still around.   I am looking for Robert Richard born around 1838 in London.  His father was also Robert.    Not sure if he was in Bethnal Green at that stage but he married there in 1868 so this is just a long shot.

Thanks

Hello lyraea

I could not find him in the 1851 census index for Bethnal green or Whitechapel.

It would be better if you postes a general 1851 request on the London Lookup requests board.  Other people have more general indexes.  It would also help if you knew in which part of London he was born.  Have you found him on any other census?  If you have you should quote all information you have already.  You seem to know his fathers name.  Where did you get this information.  If it was from a marriage cert then you should post this information too.  Every bit of information helps to track him down.  You could try for his birth on Freebmd.

Hope this helps

Don't know if you can help but this is my problem. Charles Popkin was 12 in the 1851 census, living with his parents William and Elizbeth Popkin in Bethnal Green. Later Charles "married" Louisa Smith, no record found for the marriage. I wondered if there was a Louisa Smith there, she would be about 8 years old. Their second child was born in Shoreditch while the first and all others were Whitechapel. Thanks for any help you can offer, pegdoll.

This is a difficult one as without the parents names you will not know if any of them are correct.

I found three aged 9
HO107/1540 folio 453
ho 107/1545 folio 618
ho 107/1543 folio 289

age 6
HO 107/1540 folio 371
ho 107/1543 folio 353

If you get a birth certificate for one of the children then it would give the fathers name and make it easier to trace Louisa

It is best to post a seperate request as more people will look at the post.

The 1851 census is now online

Have you asked for an 1861 lookup?  This might also be difficult without a father's name.

Good Luck
