Alli,

I am not sure if this is her parents, her Australian death registration has Charles and Sarah, it certainly looks promising.  The ages fit - thank you so much for looking - it is appreciated.

Alli,

This certainly is my Sarah Ann - I found a birth date - 5th March 1845 and baptism 2nd July 1848 Tredegar Wales.  Question is why would they baptise her in Wales - seems a bit odd.

Again - thank you for spending your valuable time looking.
Anja

Alli,

What I think has happened is when Eliza b:1848 was born in Wales they baptised all the older children at the same time as Eliza.

For that era, it makes you wonder why they would travel all the way from England to Wales for a few years and then travel all the way back again.  It certainly would have been one heck of a journey to take with such small children.

I know looking at Australian travel back then it was a huge thing to travel between townships and states (counties) by either foot or bullock and dray.  Even now I travel 4hrs to see my parents in the country by car, back then it would have taken many weeks if not months because of the mountains that needed to be crossed, not to mention a ocean inlet.

Regards
Anja

Hi Anja

I am doing the Denmead research for a friend.  Her line is
William Denmead 1770-1848 and Rachael Andrews 1782-1861
James Denmead 1821-1901 and  Elizabeth Holder 1823-1899
Sarah Ann Denmead 1844-1923 and John Hester Vesey 1842-1898
John Hester Vesey 1871-1940 and Georgina Pell 1880-1960
Jean Elizabeth Vesey 1918-1970 and Irving Joseph Nathaniel Bennett 1906-1995
Helen Bennett
I have a bit on the Denmead/Vesey families.
I have been to Kenn in Somerset and looked at the church records.  My family originated in Kingston Seymour which is next to Kenn.

I look forward to hearing from you again.
