Hi Barbara

I am descended from Robert Knipe and his second wife Betsey's (nee Howlett) daughter Beatrice Louisa. But since Robert and Elizabeth had 4 children before she died I decided to have a look at the Hunt family. I have not managed to find George's baptism/parents or his marriage to Frances but know he was born in Luddington, Lincs around 1809. Do you have that information? I have found George, Frances and family in the 1841/51/61 census and Frances as a widow in 1881. I know besides Elizabeth their other children were Sarah, Frances, Mary, George, Thomas and I have found Thomas later as an adult.

Best wishes.

Hi there
George Hunt was b. Mar 1809 in Haldenby Yks. but gives Luddington in 1851 census. He married Frances Crabtree (b. Mar 1813) on 11 June 1832 in Whitgift. Thomas John Hunt was my great grandfather. He married a Henrietta Gibson from the Howden, Yks. area, she was the illegitimate daughter of Elizabeth Gibson who has turned into a mystery as I haven't been able to trace her birth.
Have you Elizabeth Hunt Knipe's death date?

best wishes,

Chota

Hi Barbara

Nice to hear from you again.

I don't have Elizabeth Knipe's (Hunt) exact date of death but can tell you it was in the March quarter of 1873 and she was 28 years old. Robert wasn't single too long afterwards as he married Betsey Howlett on 13 May 1874.

I can also give you Elizabeth's marriage details:

8 August 1864 - Parish Church, Flixborough
Robert Knipe - 26 - Bach - Labourer - Residence: Whitton - f: James Knipe, Occ: Lab
married
Elizabeth Hunt - 21 - Spin - no occ - Residence: Flixborough - f: George Hunt - Occ: Lab
Witnesses: Charles Pickersgill and James Blackbourn
Charles was Robert's future brother in law and James was his cousin.

I noticed on some earlier postings about Thomas that he was the son of Thomas and Mary but there weren't any marriages in Belton listed on the IGI. I have the Belton Parish Church of All Saints transcription booklet and I can tell you that Thomas Crabtree married Mary Saxon (of Crowle) on 5 December 1780. Later a widowed Thomas Crabtree married Anne Saunderson on 25 May 1795. So the burial in 1792 for Mary Crabtree that was given is a strong contender and the 1841 census is most likely Thomas and his second wife.

I also have the baptism book so if you would like Thomas and Mary's other children let me know.

All the best
Janda
