I know you put this on over 15 years ago but my family lived there for years, the Hancock's, they used to own the donkeys at butlins in skegness up until the mid 90s.

I just saw the response. How interesting! Thank you for responding.  So you are a Hancock descendant? I have some mince pie tins that have been passed down in the family that were from my Hancock line.

Hi Kristin
I've just finished a 7 day free trial on Find My Past - I just went a bit berserk and downloaded a load of stuff while it was free.. I came across the Bull Yard as well and started to look for it .. and your thread came up with tons of research information. I hope you still look for responses here, I could be another 'cousin' resident in South Africa.
I'm not on any research sites atm, but plan on spending some time checking out all the 'free info' I've downloaded soon.
Alice Rebecca Nixon is definitely my great grandmother, born 1876, I have her bible and holy communion books.
Hope to connect

Gail,

Thanks for reaching out. We must be related. I've taken a break from genealogy lately as work and kids are keeping me on my toes.

I need to get back at it. My great great grandfather was Thomas Tyson Nixon and his daughter/my great grandmother was Emily Nixon Schwarz.

Happy to connect and share-Kristin
