Hi Annie,
Sitting in my little study when I saw this, all the reference material to hand so easy to look up and check. Great little bit extra on our man but only one Clifton in the Tonbridge book which made me wonder if it was a younger Dudley.
Going to have to go and recharge those bunny batteries, 2.15a.m. here.

On the National archives MIC there are three Reginald Cliftons

R.A.M.C.         #2933
and Manchester Regiment # 2962 then # 252638

Somerset Light Infantry #25601 and Highland Light Infantry # 77932

Royal Fusiliers # GS/7636 then # GS/58952

Given that the picture of the 2 brothers together has one of them wearing a kilt it would seem possible that we are looking at the second Reginald Clifton who served in the S.L.I. and then the Highland Light Infantry. Lets see what the picture looks like.
