HAWE/HAW Well, Yorkshire
« on: Tuesday 21 March 06 15:19 GMT (UK) »
Hi all

After some searching on the site of the latter day saints, I came across a branch of my family in about 10 minutes (be lovely if all was that quick!)
Anyway, all marriages, deaths and births happened in this small town/village called Well in Yorkshire.

Guilielmi Hawe m ??????
b. c1670 Well, Yorks
           |
Zacahriah Hawe. m ???????
b. c1696 Well, Yorks
           |
Zachariah Hawe m. 1.Sarah Peel  m. 2.Mary Walburn
b. c1741
m 1. Sarah Peel 27/11/1766
m 2. Mary Walburn 24/03/1781
        |             |                               |              |                |
Zechariah    James m. Isabella            Mary       Mary        William
(Sarah)        (Sarah)    Topham        (Mary)      (Mary)       (Mary)
b.1767         b.1773     b. 1778        b.1782    b.1785      b.1788
                    d. 13/11/1854
                    m. 13/05/1798

James went on to have 8 children. His eldest, Sarah b.1798 is my family line.
Basically, all marriages and deaths and births of this famil took place in Well, or at the least in Snape which isnt too far away.
On the census it says James was a "farmer of 107 acres
Is anyone else linked to this family?  ??? ??? ??? ::) ::) ::)

WALTON line from Yorkshire is my main interest.
WOOD, TYERMAN, WALKER, HAWE.
Any information on Fryston Colliery and that particular area would also be gratefully received!
William SYKES is also a great interest of mine because i cant seem to find him! Born c.1840 "Iron Chapel" Bradford.
Thanks!!!

I have a Linton Kendal Haw born 1867 Yorkshire in my tree.   He married a great Aunt of mine in County Durham in 1898, they had no children.  Regards June

Hi!
Yes I agree I sometimes think the same!!!
If we both have Haw's in our family trees then chances are we may havesome relations that match, as it seems the Haw line was in Well/Snape for generations!
The Walton line is my main line of research, although I have no Walton's that are directly married to a member of the Haw line!!!
If you could mail me the names of one or two of the Haw's and Walton's you have in your tree I could do a search through mine to see if there are any links?

Happy Hunting!!

Hi again Debby

Apologies for the VERY late reply.
At the moment I don't have a lot of filled out info on the Haw's, though chances are they are one and the same family from that era all living in Well, chances of having 2 families of the same surname in such a small area is tiny!
Do you have any more info on the Haw's you have?
