I agree with lemontree that your best hope is the record office.  I think that you should be looking for to whom the licence was granted.  I am not clear about the dates that you are talking about but the quarter session minutes and possibly the brewster session minutes should be looked at.

I think it is unlikely that the current brewery would be very much help.  The pub is likely to have been in private hands and even if owned by a brewery would have changed owner many times since then.  The legal departments of modern breweries have in general culled their records and very little depends.

The other place worth a look is

where you may find some records of the pub changing owners.
