Mary Kavanagh b 10 Jan 1916 and Winifred Kavanagh b10 Dec.1923

Looking for information on sisters Mary and Winifred Kavanagh daughters of James and Edith (Kelly) Kavanagh. Family lived for a time at 90 Dean Lane, Moston and later at 202 Kenyon Lane, Moston, Parents James a retired Railway Signal Man d 30 Dec. 1952 and Edith d 27 Mar. 1953. Both are interred in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Moston Lane, Manchester.  Is possible Winifred did not marry.

I have been hitting a brick wall on this for a while now,  Can anyone help me?

Kind Regards
John G.

Hi John

Sorry to see you still struggling on this one.

This might be a long shot, have you tried the local newspaper for the Moston area. See if you can place a small notice "Looking for .........."

Evening Ken,

Thank you once again for your assistance, I will get that done tomorrow, see what happens then. I was lucky to fine a photograph of my Grand Uncle recently, but no further information. Seems they last visited Ireland late 1930's.

It’s amazing how the two girls could have disappeared off the face of the earth without leaving any trace. They must have left Manchester when parents passed away. Information has it that James had a brother Patrick living in Liverpool, but I have zilch information on him other than his DOB, which is the 14 Feb 1869.

Kind Regards
John

Thank you again Ken,

Your Copy of ‘The Advertiser’ arrived during the week so am grateful to have it. Unfortunately the response to the posted article hasn’t opened any new doors for me, I have just received one response to date, and that was mainly to inform me about Dean Lane railway station. I guess the only people who will know anything of James and Edith would now be senior citizens, and it’s unlikely any will have PC’s. So the saga continues. I have ordered further Marriage Certs for Mary Kavanag’s of Manchester. So maybe one day I will strike it lucky. Strangely enough I don’t see any Manchester Marriage Certs for a Winifred Kavanagh, maybe she never married!

Once again thank you for your help, I will let you know if any of the Marriage certs connect for me.

Kind Regards
John

Hi John

Glad you got it, but shame about the response but it was worth a shot.

John dont think old people dont use pc's  ;D my mum is in her 70's got her first pc 2 years ago and you cannot get her off it   ;D

Keep me updated to any new leads you have in the Moston or Manchester area and I will check them out for you.
