Hi
I'm a descendant of Betsy Whyte, done a lot of research on the Whytes and the Stewarts. There are many records on Scotland's people as well as on
http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/mainmenu.asp
. I haven't read all the replies however I'm happy to help if I can.

Hi my nanny's side are all reeds and whytes. Alternatively sometimes recorded as reid or whyte. My nanna insists it's whyte though.
My great nanny was Elizabeth whyte a romany woman who married a burgess. Her grandparents were reeds. All from around the hexham area or Scotland.

Hi kez
I notice you're looking for some of the same names as me, whyte, stewart & kelbie, I have all these in my tree so we must be related somehow
Please get in touch and I will see if I have any answers you're looking for
