Hi Kizmiaz,
You are right mate, Adobe and Apple love to stop anybody doing
anything with their software even though it belongs to you.
Spotty,  As I don't use Photoshop I can't say what their file system is
or how they construct the software commands. You may have to wait mate
for someone with more knowledge I'm afraid.
You said you got Adobe 5 to work. was this in the same folder as 7?
You also said the folder was on you desktop. It's no good there mate it wants
putting on your hard drive. when you put the disk in the drive make sure you copy the
folder to the c: drive not to desktop.
If it is the full folder and not just an icon, Then click on my computer.
you Will see the C: drive. Left click on the folder on your desktop, keeping the button
pressed, drag the folder over to the hard disk icon. then release the button.
If you have done this before you will know what i mean. If not, keep practising. when you have done that successfully check the programme list again,
let us know,
Tomkin

Spotty

I've checked my disks and my PC. I'm sorry to say that if you haven't got 'set up' on your PC (in your Adobe PS folder) then there's nothing that you can really do- especially since they will require the activation key, which is on the disk.

The only thing that I can suggest - unless you are prepared to fork out another £500 plus - is to somehow use your old PC for Photoshop and transfer stuff, as needed, to your new Pc via a LAN, flash drive, CD, etc. If you have a LAN then you could access it that way, i think. I'm not up on LAN although I have one :-\

I use both Photoshop CS and Paintshop Pro. Paintshop Pro is really pretty good and more 'user friendly' - and much cheaper. Another alternative is Photoshop Elements which I got with a printer but don't tend to use. Again there's Picassa which has a good reputation and is free. Berlin Bob also recommends some other packages.

There's a lot of hype about Photoshop. Like all of these packages, it is only as good as the user and it really depends what you want to use it for.

Sorry about that.
