Welcome to Rootschat.
It's good to hear about the story from another point of view; the 'dirty secrets' are always more interesting!
All the families I am researching are listed on the main page here:

Further to my previous posting....

Here is the list of Annie's children according to my grandfather for anyone interested.  The dates are from the FreeBMD

Grace    1898
Arthur   1900
Fred      1902
Doris     1904
Edwin    1906 (my grandfather)
Gladys    1908
Edith      1911

From the information our family has gathered, it seems likely that Edith Victoria Annetts and Queenie Emberley Annetts were twins born to Annie in 1897.  Queenie is listed as having died in 1898 and there is an Edith Emberley Annetts listed as passing in 1910 at age 12 which fits with Edith V Annetts' age.  Since Queenie's death predates my grandfather's birth and Edith passed when he was only 3 or 4, I'm not surprised he had no memory of them.  He did recall a sister Edith as marrying someone named Bill and having 2 children so I'm inclined to believe that Phil's friend's mother, Edith Mary Annetts, is my grandfather's sister.   Exciting stuff!!

Now there are stray Annetts in Poole according to the FreeBMD:
Alfred 1893
Stanley 1904
Winnifred 1909
Hedley J. 1911(marriage)

I have no information on any of these people.  So, if anyone could help with either my grandfather's family or these strays I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Trent

date today is 10 Feb 2012 - the heading suggests that 1901 was the original posting - but, i too am researching these families.   Frederick George Emberly-Annets born 30 Sep 1902 to Annie ANNETTS in Poole Dorset he married Ivy DIBBEN in 1927 and had three children from this marriage - the third child Eileen Ivy May Emberley being my Aunt by marriage.  I however, seem to have picked up a lot more children than quoted in some of the replies and they are as follows:-

children purported to be the children of Edwin Emberley and Annie Annetts -

Edith Victoria Emberley-Annetts - 1897-1910
Queenie Emberley-Annetts - 1897-1898
Grace Emberley-Annetts - 1898-1941
Arthur Edwin Emberbely-Annetts - 1900-1984
Violet May Emberley-Annetts - 1901-1969
Frederick George Emberley-Annetts 1902-1973 - (married under the name EMBERLEY
Doris Daisy Emberley-Annetts - 1903-1976
Edwin Emberley-Annetts - 1906
Gladys Jessie Emberley Annetts - 1908
and
Edith Mary Emberley-Annetts - 1911

The 1911 Census - All names have the name EMBERLEY in them and the surname is ANNETTS (6 children in all on this Census)  The Census also states Annie Annetts was born in Reading - but, i cannot find any records - so will check out the other names suggested in prior posts.

I have Annie Annetts death certificate - and it states she died 6th July 1936 - Herrison, Charminster Road ages 65 - Spinster and states her the daughter of EDWIN JOHN Annetts - Farm Laboourer - she died of Bronchial Pneumonia and Cardiovascular degeneration.

Like everyone else this has me intrigued - and i would love to solve the mystery of  Emma Annie Friend demise.

So if anyone has done more research on this family - i'd appreciate any help i can get - as i am not stumped.

Thanks

Jacqui
