Hi Caroline

If you type

Genuki Aston (or Walsall)

into a search engine it will give you a description of the registration districts.  They are in different counties historically.  In order to find exactly where the events took place you need either the certificate or some other reference, such as an extracted IGI record.

Hope this helps

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

This is the Genuki "brief" for Walsall Registration District
Walsall
Created 1st July 1837.
Sub-districts : Aldridge; Bloxwich; Darlaston; Walsall.
GRO volumes : XVII (1837-51); 6b (1852-1930).
Aldridge, Bentley, Darlaston, Great Barr, Pelsall, Rushall, Walsall, Walsall Wood.
Registers now in Walsall district.

it helps to find out what areas each district covered, because if for example you have a family living in Bloxwich in the census, then from the above info you know that the most likely Reg District is Walsall.

or thats what I use the information for, especially in the London Boroughs, it helps narrow the field when you are trying to tie up the GRO index reference
(as you seem to be ?)
hope that helps a bit,
Newbie

Thanks Newbie, im still trying to see if these two places are near to each other, i can get them up individually and they seem to be nowhere near each other....ha ha ha, or i can get them together, but in a couple of different areas, both are in Warwickshire & Staffordshire.

CAZ, having another slow day.. ???
