Mary Dommett was my Gtx3 Grandmother. The information that follows is basically unconfirmed, but since reading your message I have determined to do some serious research and get some hard facts.
Mary was apparently born c1782, which seems to have also been the year in which my Gtx3 Grandfather Thomas Bird was born. They married in Payhembury (the village where Mary was born, near Ottery St Mary in Devon) church in September 1799. They had 11 children, of which my Gtx2 Grandmother Elizabeth was number 10.
Mary’s parents were William Dommett and Mary Lee, both born c1748. They were married on 16th September 1877, in Dittisham in Devon. William’s parents were John Dommett (or perhaps Domat) and Ann Hoskyns, who married on 14th February (Valentine’s Day, how romantic!) 1738 in Widworthy in Devon.
