Hi Val I also have ancestors from round there (Peovers) and have heard recently that people had to get marriage licenses round there and unusually for back then it could mean that they could include parents full names, father's occupation etc. I am currently trying to look into this with mine with the help of a researcher.

Good Luck with yours

Hi Anna,

that sounds very promising. My John Rogers was a poor pansmith in the salt industry so I bet it was expensive for him to get the money for a licence, if that turns out to be the case. The extra information would be superb though as I'm stuck at John & Kitty, my 3x gt-grandparents.

Good luck with your research also.
Regards Val

Hi Chris
I was wondering if you could help me.
My GGG Grandfather was a William Dale born in Wrenbury.
Chester records office did a search for a baptism for me, he was baptised Wrenbury St Margarets July 21 1822, son of Mary Dale spinster of Dodds Green.
What i am looking for is any possible marriages of his mother Mary Dale after williams birth.
Hope you can help.

Hi Chris,

Sincerely hope you can help - I am seeking marriages for the name CURZON (Curson, Courson, Courzon) in Cheshire.  Most likely in the St Chads Over area, or possibly Wharton.

In particular I am looking for a marriage of Owen (or Awen) Curzon to a Nancy or Ann pre 1820 - their first child was baptised in St Chads over in May 1820.

Many many thanks - here's hoping!!

Regards
Kylie
