Hi,

I am trying to locate the marriage of John Wren to Dinah ?? c 1827 to 1829 - I know that Dinah came from Knutsford and John from Keswick. Their first child was baptized in Oct 1829 at Cathedral, Manchester, where they remained.

I cannot locate a marriage in Manchester or Cumberland, and thought Cheshire might be the place.

Many thanks in anticipation of some help!

Karen  :)

Peter,

LONGSON FAMILY

My name is Jim & I am trying to trace my family I have I believe, managed to get back to around 1786 in Stockport.

I am trying to close the gap between James Longson born abt 1786 and James Longson who married Elizabeth Worthington on Mobberley (his 1st wife) in 1744 - They had a son James birth around 1753 again in Mobberley.

I know that the James 1786 married Hannah possibly in Ireland and I would like to know more - but the two James (senior & Junior) from Mobberly interest me if you can help with them or their ancestors.

Don't go to a lot of trouble but I would be grateful for any help or guidance

Kind regards.
Jim

Hi Jim

I think you would be advised to search the Mobberley parish registers they are available for births and marriages 1500's through to 1877. You will find them at the link below its for the IGI batch numbers.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyCheshire.htm#PageTitle.
I would suggest you also search the Wilmslow batches as well, it was a favourite church for that area of Cheshire.
It looks to me that he may have a wife Martha prior to Elizabeth if the records of their childrens births have been transcribed correctly. Unfortunatly there is no indication in any of the marriage indexes of a Martha and James Longson, not in Cheshire, maybe elsewhere.

sorry cant be of more help

Any chance of finding the marriage of George Henry BROOKS born  1852 in Norwich and Ann RENSHAW,  In 1876 they had John born Castleton and Sidney born 1878. They were living in Castleton in 1881 and Stockport in 1891.

Also the marriage of Frank DAVENPORT b 1890 Stockport who's parents were Mark DAVENPORT and Catherine Racheal BROOKS.

Any record of Ann BROOKS b 1844 Norwich marrying
Rudd, Norfolk

Bilham,Norwich Norfolk
Myhill Hickling, Norwich

Hi Jenny,

If you look at the local register office indexes at www.cheshirebmd.org.uk there are a couple of Frank Davenport's marrying in the Stockport area.

Hope this helps,

Jean
