Nathaniel Procter
« Reply #525 on: Thursday 11 May 06 18:40 BST (UK) »
Peter, Thank you so much for checking on my Nathaniel Procter.

If my Procter's lived in Buglwaton would their parish church be Prestbury?

Would this also be the case if they lived in Congleton?

Are there a lot of Procter/Proctor/Procktor marriages in the Buglawton/Congleton area in the 1825-1837 period?

Could you recommend the best directory for us to get that would help our research?

We really feel we are getting close to discovering our Nathaniel Procter...he may have used Levi or another forename & the other possibility is that he moved from Wolstanton area c1830.

Thank you , Tony

Hi Tony

The correct parish church for Congleton/Buglawton area is St Mary at Asbury, there are a couple of links here that will show which townships are covered by the various parish churches.

For Astbury
http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/chs/astbury.html

For Prestbury
http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/chs/prestbury.html

The Cheshire FHS have produced a cd that covers the marriages of all the North and East Cheshire districts up to cival registration (1837) it is for sale at this link, you will have to use there search facility to find it. The title is North and East Cheshire Marriage index 1754-1837

hope this helps

Re: Cheshire Parish Records Marriages- Bunbury, DODD -
« Reply #527 on: Friday 12 May 06 17:23 BST (UK) »
Hi there

I would greatly appreciate  a look from the Parish Records for the Marriage of Joseph Dodd ( Dood) of Bunbury Parish. He was a witness to the Marriage of Samuel Dodd ( Dod ) and Elizabeth Cookson on 19th Aug 1804 at St Boniface, Bunbury.

Joseph could have been the brother/father of Samuel.

Any help would be appreciated as I have come to a brickwall with this family.

Regards, Chris

Hi Chris,
What a great thing you are doing for us all.
I'm after what may be a longshot!

The couple I'm looking for are,
James Mullany (ey) c1806 and Johanna ? c1810.
They were born in Ireland, no idea where but all their children were born in Macclesfield Cheshire. The eldest one in c1825.
So I'm hoping they were married there.

If you could take a look for me I will be forever in your debt.

                     THANKYOU  Sue.

Hi Chris

I would be very grateful if you could find any information on the Shaw family of Bosley - all and any years.

I'd also be interested to find all Cheshire marriages of Samuel Shaw in the late eighteenth century.

Many thanks for your time on this.

Mike
