Hi

Sorry but there is nothing showing up in Cheshire at all for them.

You don't say where they were born or where there first child was born, it may help in locating a marriage.

regards

Sorry, William was born in Runcorn and his wife I think was Warrington but David Summerfield , their first son was born in 1833 in Liverpool although I can't find concrete evidence of him, (Because they keep moving across the Cheshire and Lancashire boarders I thought it was worth a lookup to illiminate it)

Many thanks
Summerfield, Boardman, Haskins, Boot

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your offer of marriage look-ups.  I have the death of an Elizabeth Powel wife of Thomas Powel in 1767 which I am trying to link to my ggggGrandfather Thomas who married Alice Simpson the following year (6/9/1768) at West Kirby, I think they lived in Greasby.  At West Kirby on 10/07/1746 there is a marriage of Thomas Powell but no brides name but you may have access to further info.

Thanks
Sue

Hi Sue

All the indexes I have found seem to say the brides name was not filled in, I think the original parish registers would also indicate the same.

Do any of their children have middle names that may indicate a mothers maiden name ?

Hi Peter,

I have no info on Thomas Jnr whatever, I can't find his birth in Cheshire and no definite siblings and I have found no middle name.
I have found a Thomas Powell born in Liverpool in 1733 which would be about right and his father was Samuel, EUREKA I thought, Thomas's first son was Samuel, then I found Thomas's wifes father was Samuel too, so no evidence really.
What is interesting is my cousin came across a piece of paper dated 1880 which reads "Thomas Powell my great-grandfather took this property from the common".  Just makes me wonder if he had come from somewhere else and made a home for himself in the Wirral. Any ideas Peter?

Regards
Sue

I am searching for the marriage details of my great grandparents John and Ellen Price both born in Birkenhead. Ellen was born in 1840.

Any help would be welcome.

Hi

Sorry but the parish indexes I have only go to 1837 after that there was civil registration, if they married in Cheshire it should be indexed in the http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/.

I see from your other posts that Martha was from Flintshire, its likely she would have married in her own parish try http://www.northwalesbmd.org.uk/  Failing that I would recommend you check the GRO which is a full index of BMD in England and Wales https://www.1837online.com/Trace2web/index.html

hope this helps

Thank you Peter, I wonder could you help with a Grocott [various spellings] family from Wybunbury, Hunsterson area pre 1837. I now think that Martha, John`s wife, was from Walgherton which I think is in the same area. Many thanks.
