You don't possibly have records of this marriage of a paternal ancestor of mine, do you?(You didn't say 19th century, I know.)

Samuel Pemberton m. Elizabeth Beresford, Mar. 20th 1811. Bunbury.

The marriage of Samuel PEMBERTON and Elizabeth BERESFORD is on the index, but there is only the information that you already have, that they married 20 Mar 1811 at Bunbury St Boniface.  As you have the exact date you could email Cheshire Records office and ask for the details of the parish register entry, or get a photocopy for a small fee - you can order online on their website.

Jonathan BATE m Betty CROFT, sp, 31 Dec 1778 at Runcorn

Thanks Jean, That`s interesting because I have the 31st December down for my Jonathan Bate marriage but somewhere along the way the name Elizabeth Gross has cropped up.

Jean, I`ve just had a thought. Elizabeth and Betty could be the same person and Gross and Croft are very similar surnames too!!

hi..i would be really grateful if you could check the marriage of Daniel Oakes b 1782 in backford,cheshire..he married an Elizabeth unknown in St Oswalds church in backford about 1816...his father was ralph oakes who lived in backford at daniels birth..i know ralph married mary unknown about 1775,but i haven`t a clue where ralph and mary were married,or indeed where they were born...any help would be very,very welcome....kind regards...allan oakes

I have checked the indexes for either of these marriages but no luck.  The Backford parish registers are online at http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb/ - there is no marriage for Daniel OAKES there - do you know where his wife was from as they may have married in her home parish.
