Thanks for looking that up.
I suppose if thats the only John Roylance and Sarah it must be them? I know that on the 1851 census John and Sarah have a ?Aaron Gent? brother-in law living with them and I suppose its not inconceivable that Gent and Jent are a bit interchangeable....sometimes I wish I had one of those bibles with everything nicely written down going back to 1066 or some such date :P...still I suppose that would spoil the fun  ::)!!

G'day there,
This is a bit of a long-shot but would be interested to know if there is any record of the name 'Trewhella' (var.) having been married in Cheshire.
Been researching the name for nearly thirty years and still have some to track down.
IF possible (and ONLY IF possible) I would appreciate a lookup.

Ian

Peter,
A second reply to this as I am not sure my attachment worked.
The address for the new Penwith Genealogy forum is as follows:-

http://azazella.proboards41.com/

I tried to copy it as a hyperlink but it didn't work in the note. (Will have to start learning a bit more about these types of things!)
Have been working with computers since the mid-70's but had a period of several years where I did not have Internet access. It is only now about four months since I had renewed access so a lot of things are a big learning curve.

I reckon you will be able to sort the above out and we might get some more information flow going.

Best Regards,

Ian

Peter,
My second note appears to have gone through ok with the supplied address 'hyperlinked'.
However, it would appear my original note may not have made it.
So, basically, thank you for your look up and expedient response.
I did not really expect a positive result but I do now at least know that Cheshire was not a place where my people married - at least prior to 1837!

Thanks again,

Ian

Dear Chris,

I'm looking for the marriage certificate for Miriam Massey and Thomas Hinton at Great Budworth, Cheshire. I believe this was in September 1812.
Does this show her mother's maiden name ? I would be particularly interested if it does.

Thanks so much!
Susie

Hi Susie

       Welcome to Rootschat  :)

Sorry but no marriage certificates in the UK prior to 1837.
The parish records will not show Miriams mothers maiden name, it is also very likely that her mother and father are not be mentioned either.

There was some research done for another member a couple of years ago for the same family, maybe they have the answer.
You can find it in this link.

Some time ago Peter generously searched the marriage index for Joseph Weedall but was unable to find him.

After much searching on the LDS site I've found the following marriage which looks promising but is a patron submitted entry with no source details.

Joseph Widdall / Elizabeth Widby 16 April 1810 Sandbach

I would be very appreciative if these names could be checked in the index.

Many thanks
Linda
