Hi Milly
I shouldn't put this on here but it might help ;)
Ellen Collier was C 4th June 1843 St Thomas Stockport
Father Samuel Collier Mother Hanna Collier (has a source)

Celia

Thanks for that Celia.  The birth is 1836 so either it was done late  or mis-transcribed so I'll put on my list of originals to take a look out.

 :) :)
McBride (Monaghan, Manchester), Derbyshire (Bollington,Cheshire), Knight (Newcastle,Staffs), Smith (Chorley, Lancs & Ireland), Tipladay (Manchester & Yorkshire) ,Steadman (Madeley,Shropshire), Steele (Manchester,Glasgow), Parkinson (Wigan, Lancashire), Lovatt, Cornes & Turner (Staffs) Stott (Oldham, Lancs). Hi

There seems to be just one marriage around that time period.

Samuel Collier to Hannah Dodge Jadburn at St Mary Cheadle dated 9/May/1835.

I suspect the name Jadburn is a mistranscription but of what I am not sure. Checking other indexes for the same name anytime anywhere brings up nothing.

That looks like the right one. In 1841 they are living with a family called Chadburn.  I thought it was just another family renting rooms but now can investigate as possible in-laws.

Thank you ever so much :) :) :) :)

Hello again :)

I've checked the 1841 census and if those Chadburn's are the in-law's then Hannah's parents should be called Richard and Martha.    Would you (or anyone) be able to look and see if a baptism comes up for Hannah (most likely in Stockport) around 1812 (although 1841 census puts it at 1816 and 1871 as  1807 so I'm not entirely sure of the date)

Dodge is an odd middle name - perhaps that is HER mother's maiden name.

Thanks again for all the help
 :) :)

Hi

I don't have access to baptism records and very few for Stockport are available in the IGI, none for Hannah Chadburn.
I would suggest you put a separate request on this board you may catch someone who's going to the record office.
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,205.0.html

As to marriages for Richard there are two, neither of which are to a Martha or a Dodge.

22/January/1789 Richard a weaver and Lettice Wilkinson at Stockport.
1/September/1795 muslin weaver and Ann Shelmerdine also at Stockport.

Just found a marriage which looks as if it may be the one.

Richard Chatburn weaver 25/October/1801 to Martha Harrop at Stockport by licence.
This where the Dodge connection seems to arrive
Martha Dodge married Robert Harrop 26/Nov/1774 at Stockport.

hope this helps
