Hi Peter

re Joseph Weedall marriage.

Many thanks for checking. If he doesn't appear in the index can I assume he didn't marry in Cheshire?

The index is complete for the Gt Budworth (Northwich) area, and most other parishes at the time your looking at.
The name Weedall is one that can be wrongly transcribed in many ways, I have checked all the various spellings I can think of but cannot see a Joseph anywhere. Athough I wouldn't swear to it I would they did not marry in Cheshire.

I wonder if you can help?

I've failed to find the following marriages in parishes of Shropshire immediately neighbouring the Cheshire parishes of Audlem, Acton, Marbury & Malpas.

Given that marriages almost always take place in the bride's home parish, I wondered if the brides in question just might have come from 'over the border'!

They are:-

1. Philip Simon(s) & Margaret  c. 1690-1720
2. Thomas Simon(s) & Susan(na) c.1740-50
3. Joseph Reynolds & Mary c.1735-50
4. Thomas Stubbs & Mary c.1730-60

Thanks in anticipation.

Jill

Hi Jill

Nothing showing up for the Simons or Reynolds, but there is a possible borders marriage at St Bertoline Barthomely 1735/36 Thomas Stubbs to Mary Proudlove. Stubbs is a very common surname so its a bit of a long shot.

sorry couldn't help more
