Hi Peter

Thanks for your prompt reply, no less than 6 Lidgett names recognised.  The John married 1809 is the son of Robert the Blacksmith died Bickley 1835.  What I need now is to know if he was the father of the John who married Elizabeth Leach 1836.  His parents also John and Mary.  These are my 2Gt Grandparents.  Any one help?

Goddard, Sweetlove-London
Goddard Lyngcoln-Suffolk
Roberts Bellis Owen-Flintshire
Taylor Thomas Evans-Denbighshire

Hi
Sorry I do not know how you can proceed further without seeing the parish birth records, kept at Cheshire Records office, unfortunatly I do not have copies.
Maybe someone can suggest something else?
Good hunting

Hi Chris

I really would appreciate any help you can give me with my research. I'm looking for the marriage of GGG grandfather in Cheshire:-

William Francis CRANE (b. circa 1784) to Elizabeth ? (b. circa 1788). I'm surmising that the wedding may be been circa 1808-13 and possibly at Holy Trinity, Chester (all their children were baptised there from 1813 onwards.)

Yours hopefully

Hi Judith
Both Joseph and Catherine have birth records showing on the Cheshire BMD site from there you can get the application for birth certificates, these will give you the mothers details you are looking for.
       http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/
I have searched the marriage index and found a likely pairing of William Ankers and Mary Hopley (Malpas ) married
Hargrave St. Peters in 1835, of course this could would be proved by the birth certs.
The marriage index I have is not complete but without both names it is even more difficult.
Hope this helps

Hi June

The index that I have only contains marriages so don't think there is any way we can help at the moment.

Hi Dorothy,
I have searched the index and not found a William Crane with Elizabeth. Have tried all districts and variations of spellings without luck.
As the index is not complete it does not mean they didn't marry at Chester, but I think a visit to Cheshire record office at Chester may be called for, if you are in the area.
