Hi Peter,

It's a marriage I was looking for, or rather two.

1) William H Bunnell to Harriet, probably Tarvin, although could be Kelsall, as she was born there. They must have married prior to 1881, as I have them together in the census and their first child was born in 1881.

2) Edward Bunnell to Mary, again Tarvin prior to 1835 as this is then their son was born.

Many thanks  and Merry Christmas 8)

Hi Rachel

All the cheshire marriages after 1837 can be found on this site, sorry can't see one for William and Harriet.

http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk

The only marriage prior to 1837 for an Edward and Mary is on the 15/3/1819 St Oswald Chester Mary Houghland.
The marriage records I have are reasonably complete for that district but you can never say that one was not missed.

sorry

Dear Peter,

:) Thanks for your quick reply. we would love to be able to give you more details about Thomas, but we are starting to wonder if whether our ancestor James actually had a father at all.

The only information we have is from James birth death and marriage certificates.

The birth certificate gives James' birth place as Bollington, regristration district Macclesfield in 1838.

His marriage to Rachel Valentine was in the registration district Ashton Under Lynne, St Paul's Church Stayley on May 19 1861

He immigrated to Australia circa 1864 and he died in Gympie, Queensland, Australia in 1911.

On each certificate his father is listed as Thomas Deane, labourer. His mother is listed as Mary

Thanks again
Rosndel :-*

Hi Again
Still trying to find the area James lived in 1861, do you know if they had any children or not prior to them emigrating in 1864 ?

Hi Peter,

As far as we know the first child was John Thomas born in Gympie,Queensland Australia in 1869.

On James marriage certificate his place of residence was listed as Staly, his bride, Rachel Valentine is also listed as Staly for her place of residence.

Thank you so much for your efforts.

Hello and a belated Happy New Year to all Rootschatters.

I'd be very grateful for a look up for the following on Cheshire Parish Registers:

Marriage for William Jackson, born Stockport c1790
married Betty (surname unknown) probably at St Mary's Stockport or St Mary's Cheadle – unless they're one and the same church?

Year of marriage unknown but before September 1818 and probably not earlier than 1811.

If anyone's able to check for births, I'd also be glad of a look up for:

John Dutton b: 1813 Macclesfield, son of John Dutton, a Forgeman.

Many thanks
