Hi Yazzie  :)

The indexes you have asked for a search in are for pre 1837 (Civil Registration ) only, sorry but don't have any info after that date. It would probably be best to obtain the copy of the marriage certificate.

Hi Peter,

I have 2 marriages I would love some help with

James Dale (b~1805) m. Sarah?  ~1826 (first child ~1827) Leftwich area - her maiden name may be Jackson as one child had this as a middle name.

Samuel Harrison  (b~1796) m. Elizabeth ~1820 (first child ~1821) Northwich area - last child of 8 was called Henshaw so possibly a maiden name again.

many thanks,

June

Hi June,

Nothing jumps out as obvious:
James DALE, weaver m Sarah HILLARD 23 Sep 1811 at Stockport
Jas DALE, widower, farmer m Sarah GLOVER 27 Feb 1820 at Astbury
Jas DALE, schoolmaster, m Sarah BARNETT 5 May 1824 Astbury

Also
James DALE, servant m Mary JACKSON 28 Mar 1811 Nantwich by licence

Saml. HARRISON, bach m Betty CARTER, Sp. 27 Dec 1818 Great Budworth
Samuel HARRISON, bach m Betty WILLIAMSON, Sp. 28 Dec 1820 Great Budworth

Again, nothing obvious I'm afraid.

Hi Jean,

Samuel Harrison & Elizabeth Davies looks very good as in 1841 he was a flatman. I can look at Elaizabeth Davies' now and see if there was a connection with a Henshaw.

Forgive me I have just realised I gave the wrong information  - James Dale also married an Elizabeth   - Sarah Jackson Dale was their daughter...... I seem to have brain fade (all too often!!). James was a farmer.

please, please forgive....

June

Forgiven!  ;D

However, I can't see a James DALE - Elizabeth marriage that fits at all!

Jas DALE m Eliz BROADHURST 24 Apr 1828 at Cheadle
Jas DALE, cotton spinner m Betty JONES, sp 12 Jun 1824 at Prestbury (both of Macclesfield)

The only other one is in 1773!  There is this just out of interest:

James DALE, farmer m Mary HARRISON, sp 18 Jun 1804 Astbury by licence.

Sorry I can't be of more help,

Jean

Hi,

Would it be possible please, to see if there is a marriage between a George Hook and an Ann Gar(di)ner in the Chester area probably in 1832/3. Their first child , George, was born circa 1833.

Many thanks,
Lesley
