I’m trying to find the first marriage for Thomas Bowden born c1765, Stockport.
I’ve found two possible entries on the IGI.
The first is in 1787 to Martha and the second one to Peggy Thompson in 1789,both Stockport.
Could you please look at the index to see if there are any more details for either marriage and if it’s not too much trouble see if there are any more Thomas Bowden marriages in Stockport about that time?
Many Thanks,
Pat.

I am looking for the marriage/marriages of James Hooton, gardener in the Duckinfield/Ashton-under_Lyne area.
There may be two marriages.
First to Alice c1825 & then c1830 to Ann.

Thanks, Tony Lambe

Hi Tony

Sorry but nothing in the Cheshire indexes, no James mentioned at all any time.

Hi Pat

Cannot find a mention of the 1787 marriage to a Martha, but the one to Peggy in 1789 is indexed and the only other info is that he was a weaver.

2 other Thomas Bowden marriages in 1780 but this seems a bit early for your chap.

Hi Peter,
Many thanks for the look-up; it’s very much appreciated.
Thomas’s occupation was weaver when he married for the second time, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this is the one.
Once again many thanks,
Pat.

Dear Chris,
I am researching HOLTBY family and wondering whether there are records of a marriage of James Holtby to Margaret Hollerin in the 1820's, probably Stockport?  Many thanks,
Lynne :)

Hi Lynne  :)

                Welcome to Rootschat  :)

Sorry to say that there are no Holtby marriages indexed in the Stockport are prior to 1837.

Hi Tessa

The marriage was at St Peters Prestbury 1/Nov/1817 Rich Warren lab. Mary Pickford spinster both of Macclesfield Forest.
Looks as if they may have had children earlier than 1825 ?
