Hi Les

Welcome, nice to see your first post on the boards  :)

The marriage index show that Sarah Eardley married Chas Wilcocks school master married by licence.

If you send an email to the Cheshire RO at the address in the link below and give them the marriage details you can ask for a copy of the licence and any accompanying bond.
http://www.cheshire.gov.uk/Recordoffice/shop/

The bond may show a relatives name, but is unlikely to give parents details.
They are fairly quick and would only make a small charge to cover cost of copying etc.

Hi Chris

I'm looking for any details of a marriage between Charles Willcock and Sarah Eardley, 18/5/1824, Astbury, Cheshire, thanks.

Hi Again

Just had a good look at the 1841 census

1841 HO107-119-11-Folio 13 The Parks Congleton

Charles Wilcock  42  school master    not born in county
Edward               12                                  born in county
Elizabeth            10                                      ~         ~
George                7
Charles               5
Soloman              1
Sarah                 38

And on the same page

1841 HO107-119-11-Folio 13  The Parks Congleton

Elizabeth Eardley 85  independant          born in county
Louisa Willcock    14  female servant         ~    ~    ~

The 1841 census does not give relationships, so its quite conceivable that Louisa is related to Elizabeth Eardley

regards

Thanks again for your ongoing help, Peter. I'll follow up your advice regarding emailing the Cheshire RO.

Regarding the 1841 Census, Louisa Willcock aged 14 would probably be the great grand daughter(?) of Elizabeth Eardley. Louisa's mother is Sarah Willcock (nee Eardley) in the other Census you supplied. Sarah's mother was Mary Eardley (nee Badcock), so that's why I presume Elizabeth could be the great grandmother.

Hi Pauline

Sorry to say there is no Samuel Lloyd/Jane marriage indexed at all.

Do you have any more information on them, census or where they were born etc.

Les, if you have an interest in the Eardley surname you may want to have a look at this site: http://www.eardley.org/ - lots of interesting information and I think there are some family trees on there if you dig around.  Also a message board, I'm sure that they'd like to hear from you if you haven't already been in touch.

Hello
I wonder whether you could look up the marriage of a John Roylance and Sarah?. He appears on the 1841 census aged 35 (actually 37) living at Upton Court Stockport. His eldest child is aged 10 years on the 1841 (20 on 1851 census)census so presumably married around 1829-1832 ish?
Any help gratefully received!
With thanks

Hi AK

There is a marriage at St Mary Cheadle dated 20th June 1826 John Roylance and Sarah Jent.

There is only one other Jent marriage in the index for the area, (although plenty of Gent's)

Ann Jent to John Bent at Cheadle 18th July 1819. Maybe related.
