Hello Peter

Please would you look in your indexes for a marriage between William Potts and Mary abt 1780 in the Marton area. The first baptism I can find is in 1780 for Richard Potts. According to William's gravestone he died in 1840 aged 81. Many thanks.

Hello Peter,

Do you have a marriage for George Deane who was born anout 1781 in Adlington, and lived in Bollington ? (where his children were born, the first I know about being Mary born about 1819) George's wife's name was Ann and according to the 1851 census she was born in Derbyshire so this might be a long shot.

Would appreciate any help in locating this couple. Thank you.

Hi

There are two marriages that may fit,
21/Feb/1820 George Deane wood turner and Ann Waring.
11/Jun/1810 George Dean cotton spinner of Bollington and Ann Wilkinson of Rainow.

both marriages at Prestbury.

hope this helps

Hello Peter,

Thanks for that. I lean toward the latter if only because it places George at Bollington and has the couple married before Mary was born!

Thanks a lot,
