What is the name of your 3xggrandfather?  Is it John Holt and you are looking for a marriage to Ann around 1807?

My Great Grandfather x3 was John Holt wife Ann. The only son I've found was born 1806/1807 but he could be the first or last. Not very helpful I'm afraid for the marriage date.

Unusual with such a common name, but the only marriage I can see is below and it does seem a bit early:

John HOLT, Carpenter m Ann MADDERS, Sp. 5th Feb 1776 at Knutsford.

Just about to head off to bed when I saw your reply - thank you.  You are the first contact with  possible  'connection'.  The time frame ie. pre 1837 is very hard to research.   I have had wonderful help from rootschatters.  I have lots of info from 1841 census onwards.

I do have a couple of wills to follow up that may confirm that this is the correct family.

I'm afraid that this isn't necessarily a connection as I think Thomas Birchall was possibly the Church Warden so would have witnessed lots of marriages, but if you find out differently please do let me know.

Thanks for the John Holt/Ann Madders marriage I will see if I can find any connection. As you say a bit early but perhaps my George Holt was the "end?"

Samuel Warburton marrying Mary Yardley 1768 probably Tilston area

James Warburton marrying Elizabeth Roberts 1742 not sure where but possibly same area

John Warburton marrying Ann Williams 1720 also not sure of where in Cheshire

           There is a marriage indexed at St Mary Tilson by Banns for Samuel and Mary Yardley dated 30/September/1768.

         Nothing for the others, sorry.
