Hello Peter

Looking for a marriage of John Cliff(e) b 1599 son of John Cliffe and Ann Roodes their marriage 1597. John Cliffe senior was married in Nantwich. Do not have any other details other than John and ?  first child Richard Cliffe was b 1631. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks jd gen....i`ve scrutinised the chesh site recommende by peter bennett and have ralph oakes and mary oakes`s 3 children......elizabeth 1776-peter 1779 -daniel(my 4x g.grandfather)1782....have ralphs death and buried in backford,chesh......births from 1776 to 1801 in backford.....fathers names....ralph oakes(my 5x g.grandfather)...william oakes...joseph oakes...thomas oakes...samuel oakes....and a marriage for mary oakes in 1790......backford is a very small village abt 6 miles outside chester.....it suggests to me that ralph/william/joseph/thomas/samuel/mary oakes were bros/sister..or at least some of them were......so where is ralph and mary`s marriage and where did all those oakes`s appear from,as there`s no record in st oswalds church records before elizabeth oakes`s birth 1776...any advice???...i could obtain ralph oakes death certificate...would that have his parents names on ...i know it has his birth place.....regards....allan oakes ..added 1545pm....had contact on genes ru and roots welsh page of  a  ralph/william/joseph/samuel/mary/thomas....john/hannah/richard 1758-1764 all born middlewich to ralph oakes b abt 1732  and mary oakes b abt 1736 ...how can i check this is the same family that moved to backford???...regards...allan

Hi Peter,
Could you please try to find marriages for the following:-

Thomas Warren to Mary (prob. Mason)  - first child baptised at Prestbury 21 Aug 1825, when Thomas was described as a farmer & they were living at Butley. Census has Thomas as born Bollington & Mary at Wildboarclough.

James Warren to Peggy - first baptism found at Prestbury gives birth date of 21 Dec 1793 when they were at Bollington.

Thomas Warren (lab) married Mary Mason (sp) 24/January/1825 at St Peter Prestbury

James Warren (husd. Bollington) married Peggy Brooke (Boll.) 4/April/1790 again at St Peter Prestbury.
