Thanks for looking Peter. I tried to use the web site you mention yesterday but the database page just kept posting the message "error on the page" so I gave up.
I followed your advice you gave me before about Liverpool for the marriage of George and Martha and found them in 1840 so will try again for the others.

Pat

Hi Pat

Just had a look at your other posts and saw that Jason had found a baptism as early as 26/June/1813 for a John Roberts, father John blacksmith, mother Margaret, if this is the couple your trying to find a marriage for it looks as if this could be the one dated 10/Jan/1813 at Holy Trinity Liverpool to a Margaret Smith. Found on the IGI at http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/

hope this helps a bit

Thanks a lot Peter. That must be them. I don't suppose that there were many John Roberts, blacksmith in that area at the same time.

Hi Jean

You are a star!!!!!

My Gt Gt Gt Grandfather was George Kilminster Sherratt with the marriage youv'e just found that explains where the Kilminster comes from. His mother was Catherine Kilminster.

Not sure about George Foden and Mary I based the date I gave you on the assumed birthday of their first child which was 1819 .

Thankyou so much

Cheryl

Hello Chris, :)
If your not run off you're feet doing look-ups.  ::) Could I impose on you to do a look-up for me please? ;D

My 3rd great-grandparents Charles Bowen & Martha Dickens.

I can only assume that they were married in the 1840's early 1850's But it could have been earlier ??? I don't know if they had other children... I am solely going on the information from my 2nd great-grandmother's marriage certificate.....She was Adelaide Bowen, born around 1853 in St Helens.

The only other bits of info I have was that  Charles Bowen was a Master Builder..and Martha Dickens was from St Johns, New Brunswick, Canada....And might have been a Milliner.

Sorry that I can't offer you anymore information :-[

I would be very grateful if you can help find Charles & Martha.

Many Thanks!!
Corsharn ;D

Hi Corsharn

Sorry but there is nothing in the Cheshire indexes for them.

St Helens is in Lancashire so might be worthwhile you trying there with a request.

If the marriage was after 1837 you can search freely the Ancestry BMD at  http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx

Use the full BMD indexes. These cover the whole of England and Wales

good luck
