Hi Anna

There is a marriage indexed at St Oswalds Lower Peover dated 13/Dec/1794 for John Simpson and Ann Snelson.
This marriage was by licence so you will be able to purchase a copy from the Cheshire Records Office, there is a link below.

The request for John and Mary Simpson, does this mean a marriage to each other, or is it two seperate marriages ?

Hi Peter, Thanks very much for that, yes the john and mary simpson marriage is a marriage to each other, I just don't know Mary's maiden name as yet.

Thanks

Anna

This is a long shot, is there a marriage for Edward Darlington and Ann? Edward, according to the 1851 census, was born c1788 in Wales. I don't know where Ann was born but according to the 1841 census it wasn't in Cheshire and she died in 1850. Their daughter Mary was born 1812/13 in Stockport. I think Mary was the first born child so did they marry in Cheshire?
Many thanks,
Pat.
