This is a Stockport based family living in close proximity  to St Mary's Parish Church in the Market place. I know first 2 children were christened there.  Thanks very much for trying.           berny

Hi Berny

I have had another look around the indexes and there is a marriage of a George Partington 5/November/1833 to a Mary Hatton by Licence at Stockport, looking through the various census years I can find only one family of Partingtons where the parents are George and Mary and the right ages. How certain are you that the mother was a Brown.

I would suggest you try to have a look at this marriage in the records at Stockport, there will be more names on the Licence other than George and Mary, hopefully you may find a connection.

hope this helps

I am looking for details of the baptism (in Altrincham) of Harriet Cooper, born about 1818. I hope to discover her father's name - her mother was Sarah Cooper. Sarah was born in Manchester in 1784 and my next challenge is to find her marriage and hence maiden name.

Second challenge is to find the baptism of John Berry also born about 1818 in Altrincham and husband of Harriet. I suspect his father was William Berry, a butcher but that needs proving. Any light that can be shed will be msst welcome.

Thanks

Hi Peter, I have a birth certificate showing Brown as mum's name. I think I've found the marriage too. I was looking on the IGI site and found names and dates that fit BUT it states Manchester, Lancs which is a bit vague. However there are many later marriages at St Thomas' church in Heaton Norris which in 1833 would have been in Lancashire. I'm quite hopeful that this may take me back a further generation.
Many thanks for taking the trouble to do some searching. Very much appreciated.

Hello

I am looking for the marriage of a George Astles b 1805 Shipbrook, Cheshire and a Catherine or Kate ?(no surname available) b 1801 in Whatcroft, Cheshire.
The first child I have for them is a George b 1831 in Davenham, Cheshire so they may have married there.

Thank you  ;)

Could you look up a marriage for a Nathaniel Procter/Proctor c1830
probably in the Macclesfield area?

Nathaniel's son Levi married 18th April 1853, aged 20, in the Parish Church, Prestbury.
Nathaniel was a staffman & Levi a weaver.

Thank you,
Tony Procter-Lambe
